New Product Update!

Well, it has been a pretty busy summer! Remember back in June when we gave you a glimpse into the Bead and Button Show in Milwaukee? Some of our favorite finds there were the soldered lace pendants made by the oh-so-cute shop, Two Charming Chix. We have finished two necklaces now using the pendants and are so excited to share with you how they turned out!

We've combined the pendants with gorgeous vintage pieces to create truly unique necklaces. Ciao for now...I'm off to make more!

Bead and Button Show Features Vintage Treasures

Hello,

Being a novice attending this show I did not know what to expect. I knew I was looking for beads, and rest assured I was in the right place. However, there is nothing like discovering a lost treasure. Oh, so many treasures were there!

MRS Designs - Bead and Button Show Cameos

These glorious beauties were patiently waiting way, way back of the show floor at the booth of "collector of huge quantities", Mr. Sandy Schor and family! Such an amass of vintage treasures overflowed his four booth spaces to the brim. I could hardly breathe. Beads, buttons, victorian jewelry, cabochons, keys, watches, watch fobs, opticals, stampings, chains, crazy "do-dads" made of enamel, that I didn't even know what they were exactly, just too many to mention here!

All vintage quality just waiting for another chance to resurface and find a home. When asked how he came across all of these collections he said, "They find me." Ha, I have heard this before from another collector, but have yet to experience it myself. It was hard to focus on my mission of being a good steward of my cash!

Bead and Button Show 2014

Hello,

We are back from the Bead and Button show which took place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin May 28th -June 9th. As you can see it was beautiful weather while we were there and we were excited to attend our first Bead and Button Show! This was the view from our 11th floor hotel room. Hello big city!

It is the show to attend here in the Midwest for all things having to do with beading. There is a whole week of classes you can attend with terrific teachers of the trade. I was so nervous and excited entering this huge event.

Amidst all the sparkle and bustle we came upon the booth of "Two Charming Chix" owned by Diane Thaemert. She was a sweetheart and we loved all the pendants she had on display.

She was selling her perfectly made soldered time capsules made of vintage ephemera with gorgeous lace. Trust me, I was just trying my hand at soldering last week and my piece did not look anything like their pieces! They are smooth and sweetly embellished with decorative soldering balls. Diane's husband assured me that after 15 years of practice, maybe mine will turn out like theirs. Since we didn't want to wait so long we scooped a few up to embellish with our MRS vintage buttons and charms. We will be posting them in our shop soon!

Stay tuned as we will post more pictures of the gorgeous finds from the show!
